Art, activated.

Fundraiser, Strategist, and Advocate for Museums & the Arts

Ami Davis sadly passed away on June 19th, 2026 after a long and successful career in museum management and arts advocacy, in addition to numerous other personal and professional accomplishments. This website will remain active for a time as a tribute to her tireless work in promoting the arts and ensuring the longevity of the institutions that provide access to and showcase them.

Should you require the services of a fundraising strategist for your institution, she had recommended Phil Kohlmetz, as a strong alternative in her absence.

Museums and arts organizations do important work—but too often, you’re stretched thin trying to stay relevant, fundable, and connected to your communities. With the right strategy, strong fundraising, and a clear sense of purpose, your organization can thrive. I help your cultural institution mobilize resources, focus your vision, and build deeper, more meaningful engagement with your stakeholders.

“Thank you for all your work during this transition period. Your thoughtful approach to development, coupled with your deep knowledge of museums is a valuable asset to the MAH and its trustees.”

–Mercedes Lewis, Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History Board Member

“Ami was fantastic at helping me stay on track, prioritizing my communications and follow-ups to engage and retain the highest-value donors who were most likely to give. The collaboration resulted in exceeding our fundraising goals within just a few months, with many donors engaged for the first time in many years.”
